Creative Workshops for children

We have an exciting range of workshops and creative activities for children and families which are ideal for shopping centres, festivals and community events.

Using durable, brightly coloured plastic shapes, children can make and decorate their own 3D pirate ships, houses, windmills, trains, castles and more.

These workshops set out to encourage children to develop their creativity in a fun, hands on and educational way.

We enjoy devising workshops to enhance events, exhibitions, themes and projects and will happily create a workshop to complement your events programme. Our range of workshops include ANIMATED FILM MAKING, TOY AND MODEL MAKING, MASK MAKING, SCULPTURE AND MURALS.

SPRING AND EASTER WORKSHOPS - suitable for children aged 4 -10 yrs.

BUGS AND FLOWERS - Decorate beautiful flowers,bugs,bees and butterflies.  

EASTER FUN - Decorate chicks, bunnies, eggs, flowers and butterflies 

BABY ANIMALS - Make bunnies, birds, lambs,kittens,piglets,foals and puppies

ALICE IN WONDERLAND - Make a 3d Alice in Wonderland's house and create puppets and masks of the White Rabbit, Alice, the Mad Hatter and The Cheshire cat

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW? - make 3d model houses with gardens,flowers, butterflies, snails and ladybirds. 

EASTER HATS AND MASKS - Make amazing hats and masks in the shape of flowers,eggs,rabbits and butterflies.

QUEENS DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS WORKSHOPS...

JUBILEE CROWNS AND FLAGS - Make stunning crowns and tiaras decorated with sparkly jewels and furry fabrics and decorate a special flag to wave.

BUILD A PALACE WORKSHOP - Make a model palace - big enough for children to get into and then create your own mini model place to take home. 

GIANT KINGS, QUEENS AND PRINCESS SCULPTURES - Use Recycled materials to create royal sculptures. 

KINGS AND QUEENS - Make model castles and palaces and puppets of queens, princesses, kings, horses and soldiers.  

  OLYMPICS 2012 WORKSHOPS   

OLYMPIC FUN - Model and Puppet Making - Make and Take Workshop. Children can decorate 3d sailing boats, olympic  torches,medals and flags ,puppets of footballers, horses, swimmers, dancers and gymnasts.this is perfect for big events and public spaces.

OLYMPIC FLAGS AND BANNERS create stunning flags and banners to celebrate the Olympics. These  could be individual pieces or large group works.

OLYMPIC HAT and HEADDRESS MAKING - Make spectacular hats and headdresses inspired by world cultures and flags.

GIANT OLYMPIC THEMED SCULPTURES - Figures of athletes or iconic cultural figures made from recycled materials and decorated with papers, fabrics, and paint. Children could work with artists to draw and design the basic structures and then build up and decorate the figures. These could form a long term indoor display or short term outdoor display. 

OLYMPIC ANIMATION  - Making a stop-motion animated film inspired by the Olympics - could look at olympic values, different countries participating and their cultures, different sports,could be an animated poem, story or song about the olympics.

  Children would use card, fabric, wire and a range of interesting materials to create characters and backgrounds and then animate using laptops, cameras and animation software. Each school could make a part of the film or look at a different aspect of the olympics. The end result would be a short film/series of short film which would be made into a DVD or posted on the internet. We could also take stills of backgrounds and scenes form the film which could be printed on a large scale and displayed. A preview night/ showing of the film could be organised and all participants/ families invited.  

OLYMPIC MURAL PANELS/SHAPES - A series of indoor or outdoor mural panels or cut out shapes (athletes/sportsmen).  The panels could depict different sports, athletes or look at different world cultures.These could be textured and painted.

GIANT OLYMPIC COLLAGES - On primed paper or canvas or board - create a series of large pieces using drawings, different papers and fabrics and printed images and textures. Make a collage on a different aspect of the olympics or world cultures - these could fit together to make a group piece.

TOY WORKSHOP - Make mini 3d dolls houses, Castles and Trains and puppet shapes of teddybears, fairyies and robots.  

FAIRYTALE FUN - Make 3d model castles and decorate shapes of princesses, dragons, monsters, and unicorns.

STORY TELLING /LITERACY /HISTORY AND ISSUE BASED ANIMATIONS

We have developed a series of animation workshops that allow children to explore stories, words, poems , historical events and other cultures in a really creative way.

Children can make an animation inspired by a particular book, event, place, story or poem or write their own stories and then make them into a film or make letters move on screen to form words and interact with characters. The end result is a DVD and Webfile 

We have recently run workshops in the following libraries; Winchester Discovery Centre and Library, Exeter Central Library, Basingstoke Discovery Centre and Library, Waterlooville, Portchester and Fordingbridge Libraries.

All workshop leaders have enhanced CRB checks, Public Liability Insurance and can provide risk assessments.

Workshops available are: Toymaking, wild/farm animals, mad hatters, dressing up, felt making, Halloween, Xmas, Easter and Mothers Day.

They include toy and puppet making, mask making and general art and craft sessions and can be themed.

ANIMATION - Using simple software to make artwork come alive and create your own animation. Storyboarding, plasticene models, 2D cut outs and set making. If they've seen wallace & Gromit, they can make their very own animation.


TOYMAKING
Using durable, brightly coloured plastic shapes, children can make and decorate their own 3D/2D boats, houses, windmills, trains, castles, birdboxes and crocodiles, fish, dogs, cats and many more.

Past bookings include many, many shopping centres like Lakeside and centremk, Milton Keynes, and Homestart and Surestart schemes, playgroups, schools, festivals, museums and art centres.
