Liam McNally
Liam McNally has been a natural singer almost as soon as he could speak. As a small child he would literally wake up singing every day!
In 2005, his unique gift was discovered in his Primary School. Formal training began then along with performance experience in school and church contexts. As word of his beautiful voice spread, Liam was invited to sing solo further afield, such as at the Town Hall and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, as well as at significant religious events before the Bishop and other Church and Civic dignitaries.
In January 2010, Liam's horizons expanded dramatically when he was identified as an outstanding talent by the panel of the "Britain's Got Talent" T.V. competition.
Winning through as a finalist in June 2010, he achieved his place in the last 10 out of an initial 100,000 competitors nationwide. Liam delivered a flawless and moving performance every time and was completely unfazed by the pressures of performing before millions.
Here are just a few of the judges; comments: Simon Cowell: "Liam, I wouldn't call you a good singer. I would call you a fantastic singer! When you sing, you have fire in your eyes!"
Piers Morgan: "A fantastic performance! I was trying to work out if we have had a better singing performance in the competition & I don't think we have! I'm just so glad you made it to the Final yesterday. I think you've sung beautifully every time. For fourteen, you've got extraordinary confidence on that stage. It's amazing that a kid of your age can do it!"
Amanda Holden: "You truly deserved this place in the final. You're such a credit to your family because you're such a lovely young man as well."
Following the competition he toured the United Kingdom with the other 9 finalists. Here are the 16 immense venues in which he performed to perfection, receiving a standing ovation every time: The Manchester MEN Arena, The London O2 and Wembley Arenas, The Edinburgh Playhouse, The Odyssey Arena Belfast, The Bournemouth International Centre, The Cardiff International Arena, The O2 Dublin, The Brighton Centre ,The Birmingham LG Arena, The Liverpool Echo Arena, The Newcastle Metro, The Sheffield Arena, Aberdeen AECC, Nottingham Trent Arena &Glasgow SECC.
Then in September 2010, on the recommendation of his Bishop, Liam was accorded the honour of being chosen as soloist for the Papal Visit at the Service in Hyde Park, London. Again he delivered a sublime performance before His Holiness Pope Benedict XV1, a gathering of 85,000 pilgrims and an estimated global audience of 100 million worldwide.
