They might be from very different backgrounds - but since meeting at LIPA, Liverpool's Institute For Performing Arts, contemporary dancers Renako and Nicolette have been inseparable.
Renako grew up in a deprived area of South East London where it wasn't the norm for boys to take up contemporary dance - but having found he had talent at the age of 16, an undeterred Renako did just that.
In contrast, Nicolette spent her childhood in a rural Welsh village where she practiced gymnastics from a young age. Due to the physical strains on her body, Nicolette swapped high beams for the dance floor at the age of 16 and has never looked back.
Realising they shared a passion for contemporary fusion, the pair began to choreograph routines together just over a year ago and have since performed in the production Seven at the Arts Depot in London.
In 2009 Renako won his University's Choreography competition for his routine, True Comforts. In March, 2010, Renako won the competition for the second year running, this time with Nicolette performing his routine, Jagged Desire.
