Amanda Hamilton

Amanda is one of the leading Nutritionists and Detox experts in the UK. Her no nonsense approach to health and wellbeing has made her a media favorite (The Sunday Times called her 'Queen of the Detox Scene') and she has become well known TV face, you can see her every Sunday presenting Something For The Weekend on BBC2.

Her other credits include How to Live Longer and Should I worry about..? with Richard Hammond. Her detox Spa is the subject of the hugely successful series The Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses for which she is presenter and co-producer. It is in production for its third series this summer. She is also a regular guest expert on GMTV, BBC, Sky news and BBC Radio.

Areas of expertise as a therapist include general health/fitness, complementary therapies, detox, fertility, stress management/executive health, mind-body connection and yoga. She has represented Scotland internationally at sports and is currently formalizing her yoga qualifications after spending many months in India training in Yoga and Ayurvedic philosophy. She recently opened her first BODYMIND detox clinic in Glasgow where physical and mental therapies are combined.

She speaks Spanish and French and cites her favorite hobby as travelling. She has backpacked her way across most continents in the last 10 years although luggage has become rather heavier these days as she is the mother of a little girl.

She regularly hosts workshops and lectures - both in the corporate field for companies such as BT - to small-scale education workshops for private audiences or sportspeople.

She has a business degree and has worked with a wide range of corporate clients including Microsoft and IBM.
