Rt Hon Michael Howard
Michael Howard was leader of the Conservative Party between 2003 and 2005.
Born in South Wales, Michael joined the Young Conservatives at the age of 15 and went on to study at Peterhouse College, Cambridge. He was called to the Bar in 1964 where he specialised in employment and planning law. In 1982, Michael became a QC and in the 1983 General Election, he was elected MP for Folkestone and Hythe.
On entering politics, he rose very quickly among the ranks, holding important Ministerial jobs at the DTI and DoE in the ‘80s, and becoming Secretary of State for Employment in 1990. After a brief stint as the Secretary of State for the Environment he became Home Secretary in 1993.
Michael is married to Sandra Howard (nee Paul) who was a famous fashion model in the 1960's, and is standing down as MP for Folkestone and Hythe at the next general election.
Michael has a great reputation for delivering strong and memorable speeches, and is a highly experienced presenter, keynote speaker and chairman.
His wide and varied political and business career enables him to speak proficiently on a vast array of topics.
