Broadcaster, writer and comedian, Simon's television and radio presenting credits are extensive and he regularly appears as a pundit on various documentaries and news programmes.

Simon regularly chairs conferences on social and political issues and is an excellent after-dinner speaker.

He is a member of the governing council of the University of Sussex, chairman of the Brighton and Hove Economic Partnership, on the South East Regional Council of Arts Council England and the founder of the theatre investment initiative, Made in Brighton.

He writes regular features and articles for The Guardian, The Observer, The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times and FT on topics ranging from politics to the arts via reconciliation, restorative justice, third world development and gay and human rights issues.
