Mark Easton

Mark Easton is the BBC's Home Editor, an award winning documentary-maker and news correspondent. He appears regularly on BBC television and radio as well as writing for BBC Online and many newspapers and magazines.

His expertise ranges from health (he won the TV News Mental Health Media Award in 2004) to legal affairs (he was named Bar Council Journalist of the Year in 2003) - and from home affairs (his Radio 4 series "Crime of Our Lives" was selected as a highlight of 2007 by The Guardian) to social affairs (a Ten O'clock News piece on migration impact is nominated for the Royal Television Society Home News Award 2008).

Mark also wrote and presented the BBC2 series "The Happiness Formula" which investigated the science and politics of well-being. The series was recently broadcast internationally on BBC World.

Mark heads the BBC's 'UK Specialists Unit' comprising some sixty journalists covering almost all aspects of domestic policy. He is regularly asked to speak and lecture as well as to facilitate and chair conferences and seminars.

Before taking up his current post, Mark was Home Affairs Editor at Channel Four, Political Editor at Channel Five and a BBC correspondent on Newsnight.

On a lighter note, Mark is also a quiz nut and is the regular host of "The Brain Game" held annually in the City of London Guildhall in aid of 'Crimestoppers'.

A Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, Mark lives in Islington and is married with four children.

Mark also chairs conferences and seminars and is a highly skilled conference facilitator and after dinner speaker. He has a wealth of experience hosting events and award ceremonies, both at home and abroad.
