Jon Culshaw is warmly regarded as the best impressionist in the UK. With a catalogue of over 350 hilarious impressions, his own series The Impressionable Jon Culshaw was broadcast on ITV1 and he has received rave reviews for the BBC2 TV series Dead Ringers which reached its 7th series.

As well as being a talented impressionist and comedian, Jon is also in demand as a presenter. He filmed a series for BBC1 called Jon Culshaw's Commercial Breakdown. He has also presented Countdown to the Comedy Awards in both 2004 and 2005.

Dead Ringers transferred from Radio 4 to television and won the Best Political Satire Award at the Political Studies Association Awards 2004 and on radio it has won the British Comedy Award for 'Best Radio Comedy', the Sony Gold Radio Academy Award and the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for 'Best Radio Programme'.

Jon hosted a show on Sunday evenings for Virgin Radio and appeared in Secret World (Radio 4). Other radio credits include The Now Show, It's Been a Bad Week and Chris Moyles Drive.

Alter Ego

The unique format of Alter Ego was commissioned by ITV and to date has enjoyed three specials. This is Jon's own impression show in which he interviews celebrities as themselves. As part of Children in Need, Jon was honoured to take part in a sketch as Ozzy Osbourne along with the real Ozzy. As well as confusing the audience, at one point even Sharon Osbourne was unsure as to which of the Ozzy's was her husband! Jon also worked with Ozzy on the 'I Can't Believe Its Not Butter' commercial where as the name suggests you couldn't tell the difference between them.   Jon has since been honoured enough to take part in a special sketch with Tony Blair, filmed at No. 10 Downing Street, as part of Children In Need.

Other TV Highlights

Jon's other television credits include Jonathan Ross Salutes Dad's Army (BBC 2), Headcases (ITV1), Happy Birthday Brucie! (BBC1), Friday Night With Jonathan Ross (BBC1), 2DTV (ITV1), The National Music Awards (ITV1), Christmas with the Stars (BBC1), Parkinson (BBC and ITV1), Daily Politics Show (BBC), Little Britain (BBC1), Doctor Who Confidential (BBC3), The Sky At Night 50th Anniversary Edition (BBC1), Mock The Week (BBC2), Comic Aid Live and Uncut (Ch.4), Night of A Thousand Faces (BBC), The Royal Variety Performance (BBC and ITV1), They Think its All Over (BBC), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC), Peter Cook, A Posthumous Tribute (BBC), The Secret Policeman's Ball (Ch.4) and Spitting Image (ITV) where he provided the voices to over forty characters.

As an actor, Jon has guest starred in Hotel Babylon (BBC1) and Heartbeat (ITV1) and has filmed a one-off comedy drama for BBC Kombat Opera. Jon has also made his film debut playing our former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in the movie Churchill: The Hollywood Years.

Awards

Jon is always in demand to host various Awards Ceremonies, and was honoured to host both the 2003 and 2004 Golden Rose Television Awards in Montreux and Lucerne, The Bafta Television Craft Awards in 2005 and 2006 and the TV Channel of the Year Awards 2005 in Edinburgh.

Ministerial Roles

Jon first made international headlines by calling the switchboard of no. 10 Downing Street after fooling the operators with his 'William Hague' impression. He then found he was talking directly to former Prime Minster, Tony Blair, live on London's Capital FM, from 10 Downing Street. The incident was later reported in Hansard!

Jon has a busy year lined up with the return of two new series of the hugely successful Dead Ringers and an exciting ITV comedy project in the pipeline.
