For over 20 years American mega house music DJ Armand Van Helden, who smashed into the house music mainstream with his UK number 1 hit single “U Don’t Know Me”, has recorded scores of club hits, from mixing New York house classics like “Witch Doktor” to masterminding remixes for Tori Amos and Daft Punk. 

His greatest successes have been the remix of the song "Professional Widow" by Tori Amos, "Spin Spin Sugar" by Sneaker Pimps, and “My My My" featuring Tara McDonald. As one of the top in-house producers for the Strictly Rhythm label during the early '90s he often remixes and uses samples of funk, soul, R&B and hip hop, with filters and dub progressions, as in NYC beat, dancehall and reggae samples.

In 2009 he collaborated with British rapper Dizzee Rascal for a house track "Bonkers” which hit number one in the U.K. Later in the year, he teamed up with Canadian DJ A-Trak under the name Duck Sauce, producing a track "Barbra Streisand." Built around a catchy Boney M sample, the song hit number one in several countries, partially thanks to the viral popularity of its music video, which featured cameos by Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, André 3000, among many others.

Van Helden has continued to be an in-demand remixer, with stars such as Sam Smith, Madonna, and Disclosure among his clients. In 2015, he released a three-CD mix on Ministry of Sound titled Masterpiece, including one disc of early house tracks, one disc dedicated to yacht rock, and another consisting of '80s freestyle. Van Helden's recording career was given another retrospective in 2016, with Defected Presents House Masters. 

His fame and mastery of crucial remixes has continued well into the 21st century, thanks to successful collaborations with Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Dizzee Rascal, and Steve Aoki making him one of the most popular producers around.
