Multi-award winning 'Pop Punk Queen' who has sold more than 40 million albums and is the 3rd best-selling Canadian female artist of all time.

Mixing rock, punk and a rebellious style, Canadian singer Avril Lavigne burst onto the music scene in 2002 with her multi-platinum album "Let Go."

She scored a No. 1 hit with the single "Complicated," a catchy tale of a difficult relationship. More hits soon followed, such as "Sk8er Boi" and "I'm With You." In addition to her music, Lavigne was deemed a style icon; fans mimicked Lavigne's multicolored hair and copied her skate-punk fashions.

"Complicated" went to number #1 on Billboards Top 100 while also earning her 5 Grammy nominations, MTV music awards, MTV European music awards and many more.

She has been often referred by critics and music publications as the "Pop Punk Queen" due to her achievement and impact in the industry. 

Lavigne is considered a key musician in the development of pop punk music since she paved the way for female-driven, punk-influenced pop music.  Since her professional debut, Lavigne has sold more than 40 million albums and over 50 million singles worldwide, making her the third-best-selling Canadian female artist of all time, behind Celine Dion and Shania Twain.

Her self-titled fifth studio album debuted at No.1 in 22 countries and featured the Top 10 single in 44 countries.

Outside the recording studio, Lavigne oversees her lifestyle apparel brand, Abbey Dawn and has released three fragrances, Forbidden Rose, Black Star, and Wild Rose.

In 2010, she founded The Avril Lavigne Foundation, in support of children and youth living with serious illnesses or disabilities.
