Part maverick, part genius, total virtuoso, David Garrett has been surprising people since before he was four years old. It was then that his father gave him a violin (he was having a tantrum because his older brother had a violin teacher) and, without any lessons, the toddler picked it up and began playing.

Fast forward just four years and David was already one of the foremost violinists in the world working with the most celebrated teachers and performing solos with legendary orchestras and conductors.

With his natural talent, the input of the finest music teachers in the world and a spirit unusual in the sometimes fusty world of classical music, David has emerged as fully-formed, fullyrounded – not to mention highly attractive - artist.

Now record breaking classical pop and crossover German uberstar violinist David Garrett has been credited with introducing the masterpiece of the classical genre to mass audiences using the popularity of his crossover programmes.

David Garrett’s accomplishments have managed to surpass and reinvent the norm, a fact that many modern musicians can only aspire to. David Garrett carries the torch for classical crossover and he is attracting new audiences thanks to his orchestral covers of popular rock songs that have helped to make him world-famous.

Rock and classical music are incredibly diverse and dissimilar; Rock music is amplified while classic music is acoustic. However, uniting pop and classical music, David Garrett fuses these unlikely two musical genres to create a unique culturally electric genre of music where other musicians have failed.

In 2012, he was honoured by the Queen and performed at her Diamond Jubilee Concert, releasing the album Music. 2013 he played for U.S. President Obama and Chancellor Angela Merkel on Obama’s visit to Germany. He also appeared at the Royal Variety Performance 2011, playing his cover of Nirvana’s "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

Since childhood, he has performed in the greatest halls of the world with more than 40 great international orchestras.
