KENNY THOMAS – LEAD VOCALS

Double platinum-selling and double Brit Award nominee Kenny Thomas is a spectacular vocalist in the modern soul tradition.

Following a string of hits in the early 90's, Kenny has gone on to perform all over the world with the likes of Bobby Womack, Lisa Stansfield, Shalamar, Patrice Rushen, Tavares and Alexander O’Neal. Quincy Jones calls Kenny “a GREAT singer”… and that’s all you really need to know.

MARCUS VERE – KEYBOARDS

The founder member of Living In A Box, Marcus’ distinct keyboard riffs and punchy arrangements are taken from a diverse range of musical styles from latin, to soul, to the tight sequenced sounds of the early eighties electro-funk outfits like The System.

Marcus has been nominated twice for Ivor Novello Awards for his songwriting with Living In A Box.

ANTHONY “TICH” CRITCHLOW – DRUMS

Inspired by many of the great drummers of the past, from Buddy Rich to Jeff Porcaro, Tich brings a powerhouse of rhythmic talent to the band.

Unusual to have a ‘real drummer’ during an era of drum machines and samples, Tich’s unique style is the magic ingredient in the Living In A Box sound.

Formed in Sheffield, England in 1985, the British pop-funk group Living In A Box boomed onto MTV early in 1987 with a song named after themselves.

After debuting on the UK chart at #42, within two weeks “Living In A Box” had raced up the charts to #5 and catapulted the band to instant stardom.

Further Top 40 hits followed from their eponymous gold-selling debut album with “Scales of Justice” and “So The Story Goes”.

The second album ‘Gatecrashing’ was released in 1989 and the first single “Blow The House Down” went straight to #10, firmly establishing Living In A Box, once again, as ‘chart- toppers’.

Waiting in the wings however, was the gigantic hit “Room In Your Heart”. This beautiful ballad, which to this day receives thousands of radio plays across the world and is a YouTube favourite, soared up the charts in October 1989 to #5. “Room In Your Heart” stayed on the chart for 16 weeks; unheard of today.

Differences with the record company over issues following the labels takeover by EMI and the lack of support received from the company in the USA, led to the band splitting up in 1990.

Founder member and songwriter Marcus Vere was recently back in the charts with ABC’s – Lexicon Of Love II. Debuting on the UK Album Charts at #5 in June 2016, the fabulous sequel album contains the hit singles “Viva Love”, “Flames Of Desire”, “Ten Below Zero” and the deliciously Roxy-esque “Kiss Me Goodbye” all co-written by Vere.

2018 will see Living In A Box tour again with Chrysalis label mate and long time friend Kenny Thomas taking over the lead vocals as a permanent member of the band. Kenny entered the public’s consciousness in 1990 with the double platinum selling album Voices.

Twice nominated for Brit Awards in that year, this soulful masterpiece featured the smash hits “Outstanding” which rose to #12 on the UK singles charts, “Thinking About Your Love” which peaked at #4 and, reinforcing Kenny’s chart credentials, “Best Of You” which climbed to #11.

In their set Living In A Box feature their big hits, as well as Kenny’s, for a quite ‘outstanding’ performance.
