The Grammy-nominated British singer known as MNEK was born Uzoechi Emenike in 1994. MNEK rose to prominence after he was featured on the song “Spoons,” by the group Rudimental. The song rose to the top of the charts in the UK and set the stage for MNEK’s big breakthrough with his EP Small Talk, which arrived in 2014.

MNEK has since appeared on a number of hit singles in collaboration with other artists, including: “Ready for Your Love” (Gordon City); “ Common Emotion” (Rudimental); and “House Work” (with Jax Jones.) He also produced music for Madonna for the album Rebel Heart, and for Kylie Minogue for her album Kiss Me Once. MNEK also released the song “In Your Clouds,” which was a major hit single in the UK.

But it was the song “Never Forget You,” recorded with Zara Larsson, that finally brought MNEK international acclaim. The song rose to the number one spot in both the UK and in Sweden, and in the United States it rose to the number one spot on the Dance charts, certifying Platinum. Clearly, MNEK is an international performer on the rise and one to watch in the coming years. 

MNEK deconstructs, fuses and re-builds pop, R&B and dance in a way most can’t, and his songwriting, production and vocal skills are being sought out by everyone from Beyonce to Stormzy, Zara Larsson to Clean Bandit, Dua Lipa and Little Mix, from Kylie to Madonna and many many others.

Not content with just creating musical mastery for other people, MNEK’s also primed to properly take over as a solo artist following last years release of “Never Forget You”, a duet with Zara Larsson which he wrote and produced. It spent 6 weeks in the UK top 10 , reached top 5 in the US Top 40 chart with platinum sales and sold over 3 million copies globally.
